The impending death of a certain concept in OMR

Think about it. We all want to plan our driving around when the traffic is at its minimal. If not minimal, at least at a time when it is not at its peak. More often than not, it is the 8.30 to 10.30AM and 6.00 to 8.00 PM zones that are the most dreaded periods because of the deluge of vehicles on the road. Sometimes moving bumper to bumper, sometimes waiting for the signal, sometimes waiting for the VIP cars to pass through, but mostly waiting just for the regular office goers to keep moving forward for us all to reach our destinations….. eventually. OMR is a nightmare during peak times.

Today, we started from home a little late hoping to beat the traffic. But then, this happened.

I looked back. And this was there.

Later in the afternoon, I had my lunch elsewhere, and was returning to work. And this happened.

IT is burgeoning in OMR. Ramanujam City being the latest. And as a natural outcome, residential areas along the entire stretch are also getting filled. Easy access to pallavaram tambaram and ECR through OMR is also another factor. All these are contributing to the traffic deadlock in the IT super highway. While this development (IT-Real Estate) is good in a sense, my fear is that the concept of peak hours is slowly diminishing in OMR. With not much infrastructure develpment happening, my woe is that every damn hour (Day, night, nidnight, noon, evening...) is going to be like this in the near future. Do you commute into or out of OMR every day ? Your take ?

P.S. All photos were taken while in the signal. Am a responsible driver and do not use my mobile while on the move.
